I’m addicted to unicorns and donuts so when I went to one of my favorite donut shops and they had a unicorn donut I fell in love and wanted to make my own version of Unicorn donuts. This recipe is really easy to make and most kids like food on a stick I decided to make unicorn donut pops! Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
Here is everything you will need to make these on your own: Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
- Plain or glazed donut holes
- Wilton white candy melts
- Wilton turquoise candy melts
- Wilton pink candy melts
- Purple sugar sprinkles
- Pink edible glitter
- Yellow star sprinkles
- Pink and white straws
- Decorating bags
I’m really lucky and was gifted a donut hole maker so I can make my own. If you don’t have a donut hole maker you can buy store bought donut holes or pick up the machine. You can find it on Amazon or at Walmart or Michales. Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
Step 1: Insert colorful straws into donut holes
Lay out a piece of parchment paper before you get started because this can get messy and you don’t want chocolate all over your parent’s table. Next, you want to take colorful straws and stick them through your donut holes. Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
Step 2: Melting your chocolate
Put 2 cups of your white candy melts in a small bowl and heat on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes. Stop and stir your chocolate every 30 seconds so it does not burn. Have your parents test the micro wave first so you don’t burn it. Hold your donut holes on a stick over your melted chocolate and spoon the white chocolate over the top to coat the donuts in chocolate, let any excess drip off and place on your parchment paper. You can also pour the chocolate into a cup and dip your donut hole straws one at a time. I didn’t have a cup deep enough for this so I just painted my chocolate on. Let the extra chocolate drip back into the bowl and place your donuts on your parchment paper.
Step 3: Decorate your donut pops
Put 1/2 cup of your pink and teal candy melts into separate small bowls and heat on 50% power for 2 to 3 minutes. Remember to stir every 30 seconds until all your chocolate is melted, then pour the chocolate into 2 separate piping bags. Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
If you don’t have piping bags you can also use zip lock backs, just cut a tiny part off the corner of the bag. Next, you want to drizzle the colored chocolates over your white chocolate covered donut holes. Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
Step 4: Top with sprinkles
You want to let these sit for 15 minutes so that the chocolate gets hard. You can stick them in the fridge to speed it up. I made mine at night and by morning they were ready…mom let me have one for breakfast lol Chocolate Covered Unicorn Donut Holes
